Bring Your Own Organic Bag!
Reusable shopping bags are one of the most important and easiest things you can do to protect the environment. When you bring your own reusable grocery bag to the store, you are either saving trees (not taking a paper bag), or not creating more plastic pollution!
The best reusable shopping bags are biodegradable AND made with fairtrade practices. Our eco friendly bags our biodegradable organic cotton, and either made in the US, or made by people making a living wage: fairtrade not free trade! And we are selling them at a really great price to you!
We also carry hemp shopping bags as well as very classy hemp market bags in our online store. (All hemp is organic, since hemp is a weed, it isn’t sprayed with pesticides!). The market bag is the kind of shopping bag you could take to Neiman Marcus or Bloomingdales! (lol). But seriously, they are really beautiful shopping bags, and make great gifts!
Why not carry a terrific looking bag that is decorated with a calligraphy message about sustainability!
And if you have trouble remembering your bags, check out our Kid’s Kit To Save The Planet from Plastic Bags. Your child becomes the artist who designs YOUR bag – and THEY will remind you to take “their bags” to the store. It makes a great earth friendly kids green toy. PERFECT for holiday gift!
You are here because, like us, you care about living in a way that is eco friendly. That’s why Tim and Lianda started our Sustainable Bags. We want to help protect our environment by following the idea of Reduce-Reuse-Recycle.
We know that you watch the news about the state of the planet, the effects of plastic, not only as pollution, but as a health hazard. We know that YOU want to help in the way you can. That’s why we sell ORGANIC and FAIRTRADE Bags and Totes.
We believe that healing our planet means treating others fairly. Luckily, most people in our country can afford the small difference in price that purchasing organic products that are made by paying people a living wage. I know that we feel better using bags that are not being made by children and women in subhuman sweatshops. We also look for products that are made in the U.S. whenever we can. It’s not that we don’t value workers in other countries, but we feel it is a more sustainable practice to limit the carbon footprint: the energy that it takes to transport these items from other parts of the world.
Once you become one of the people bringing a reusable shopping bag, you’ll start noticing all the people who are taking paper or plastic bags. It’s shocking! It’s upsetting! When you consider how little effort it takes to simply bring your own bag, and the terrible impact that constantly taking plastic bags has on our planet! Bring them to the convenience stores, pharmacy, shopping malls. BEFORE the clerk packs their paper or plastic bags tell them: “I have my own reusable bags, and I never take paper or plastic”. You’ll be teaching by your great example.
