What is sustainability anyway? You hear the word everywhere. People are using it in conversations, businesses are using it to sell their products, but most people can’t define it. So here’s an easy definition that can help you to see if YOU are living sustainably:
Living responsibly by not using up or destroying the earth’s resources so future generations may live.

We are now producing the “Kid’s Kit to Save the Planet” which will teach children about recycling and waste while enabling them to create their own beautiful message on reusable organic cotton bags.
We are proud to announce that for some of our products we can now offer wholesale pricing. As we grown we will be offering more product that help reduce pollution in the world.
About Sustainability…
It seems everything you hear is bad news about the environment: Global Warming, Pollution destroying the health of all living things, undrinkable water, destruction of the rain forests, polar bears drowning, and now even the bees are mysteriously disappearing! “An Inconvenient Truth” and now Leonardo DiCaprio’s movie: “The Eleventh Hour” has brought this unhappy message to many people who never understood the extent of the problems before.
It can be depressing and overwhelming for those of us who care about the future of this planet, and the future of humanity. Humans are basically good hearted and want to do the right thing, but the problem seems so large that it can frighten us into stagnation, because we think WE can’t do anything about it.
You may be thinking: “I”m too insignificant to make a change in global warming”. Just remember: If you’ve ever thought you’re too small to have an effect, think about trying to sleep with a mosquito in your bedroom!
The good news, is you’ve already made a start: The first step to change is awareness of a problem — and many of us are there now. Now it’s up to us all individually to take personal responsibility and start making the changes in our own lives to move in the direction of sustainability.

Why Buy Organic Sustainable Bags?
Reusable bags are a great step in the direction of helping conserve and protect the environment. But if you are buying reusable bags made of propylene, vinyl or other non-biodegradable material, you are just putting off the problem for another day. Eventually your bag will break or wear out and end up in the landfill expelling toxins into the soil and water.
That’s why we encourage you to purchase reusable organic bags (biodegradable: NO use of pesticides or inorganic materials in growing or manufacturing). Our bags are made using a variety of materials that won’t hurt the environment: Organic cotton, organic cotton canvas, organic hemp and bamboo. They are sewn by people who are earning a fair wage for their labor (fair-trade or WRAP standards). We are using a mail system whose employees are receiving benefits (the US Postal Service). When these bags finally wear out they are biodegradable and will degrade naturally in a landfill.
Remember, when you run out of those plastic bags you’ve been bringing home, you are going to need some other way to throw out your garbage. Here’s the bad news: Paper bags are even worse!! But now we carry bioplastic bags that are 100% biodegradable and compostable. The materials that go into 14 plastic bags can power an average car for 1 mile!!
Get in the Habit!
It’s nice to carry something that you can be proud of, and our bags are different because they are beautiful with messages about sustainability that can educate others who see them. You’ll see a choice of messages — you will not be just another walking advertisement for a place you’ve been, or a group you belong to! (although those can be nice too!)
We offer a variety of sizes for your convenience — I carry a light organic foldable bag in my purse for ?just in case”. Get into the habit of keeping your bags on the front seat or in a visible place in your car until you get into the habit of carrying them into stores. They are NOT just for grocery shopping — for the drug store, convenience store, taking your lunch, etc…
Once they’re emptied, put them together into one bag, and hang them on the doorknob on the door you leave through — so that you don’t forget them at home! It’s not hard — psychologists estimate it takes 28 days in a row of doing something to create a new habit.
